Slavin

Slavin è un memoriale e cimitero militare di quasi 7 000 soldati sovietici caduti durante la seconda guerra mondiale durante la liberazione della città nell’Aprile del 1945. Fu dichiarato monumento culturale nazionale nel 1961 ed è situato su una collina che offre una splendida vista su tutta Bratislava (se il clima è vostro amico). Se passate qualche giorno a Bratislava vale senz’altro una visita. L’ampia area verde che lo compone  è il cimitero con le tombe dei soldati caduti, i loro nomi sono scritti in russo su tutte. Il monumento principale si trova al centro di questo cimitero ed è stato inaugurato nel 1960 in occasione del 15° anniversario della liberazione della città. Si tratta di un obelisco alto 39 metri alla cui sommità si trova la statua di un soldato sovietico, che regge una bandiera,  alta 11 metri. Ci sono inoltre altre sculture commemorative di alcuni scultori slovacchi del 20°secolo. Si possono prendere varie scale e sentieri per passeggiare e avrete quindi modo di osservare la città sottostante da vari punti di vista.

Trasporto: Vi consigliamo di prendere bus 203 o 207 da Hodžovo námestie (di fronte al Palazzo Grassalkovich) e scendere alla fermata Budkova. Il biglietto costa 0,75 €. Da lì dovrete camminare per circa 10 minuti prima di raggiungere la cima.
